New and larger demands with regard to efficient technology transfer have become a part of the normal everyday life of the business sector and the research institutions. Both within the private and the public sector there is talk of knowledge society, internationalization, globalization and international competition.

Chas. Hude in a historical perspective

For more than 100 years, Chas. Hude has been an independent IPR consultancy firm assisting customers in identifying, managing and protecting all sorts of intellectual properties in Denmark and abroad. However, in recent years there has been an increasing demand from the customers for more specific consultancy, so that the customers concurrently with the development will obtain an optimum exploitation of their IP rights.

Chas. Hude now and in the future

Based on the above-mentioned demand Chas. Hude has extended the company's wide range of services to include also commercial consultancy.

The commercial consultancy includes inter alia:

  • identifying relevant investors for the protected knowledge/technology
  • identifying relevant (licence) buyers of the customers' IPR
  • identifying relevant strategic partners
  • initiating a dialogue between customer and partner
  • follow-up on the dialogue between customer and partner (process management)
  • assisting the customer at the entering of a contract

When knowledge and technology meet business

In the commercialization process of ideas or inventions, as it takes place in the public research institutions and the private companies, know-how, ideas, inventions or similar intellectual property rights are to be turned into values in the form of results. Depending on the company or the university, the increase in value will normally be in the form of licence contracts, selling of IPR, establishing of up-coming companies, establishing of a research cooperations etc.
