Norway joins EPC

It is expected that Norway will join the European Patent Convention (EPC) effectively 1 January 2008.

After having hesitated to join the EPC for many years, due to political opposition towards patents on biotechnological inventions, it is now expected in Norwegian professional patent circles that Norway will soon become a member of the EPC. Norway's expected accession to the EPC is 1 January 2008.
