Five years with Chas. Hude

Two patent consultants can today celebrate five years' employment with Chas. Hude.

Mikkel Bender and Steven Richard Kitchen have been with Chas. Hude since 1 August 2003. Therefore, they will today receive a silver pin shaped as Charles von der Hude's signature. The pin is made by jeweller Dragsted in Copenhagen.

Loyal employees

"Since the 1920s employees with five years' seniority have received a company pin made of silver. The company pin was introduced by our founder Charles von der Hude. Today this tradition may seem a bit old-fashioned, but we have decided to keep this tradition alive because it is in essence an expression of gratitude towards our committed and loyal employees," says Tina Lundgaard, Head of Human Resources.

Responsibility and influence

Mr Bender is today manager of Chas. Hude's department of Life Science & Chemistry. He consults primarily on patenting in the fields pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, and microbiology.

Mr Kitchen is manager of Chas. Hude's department of Mechanics and Electronics. He consults primarily on the patenting of inventions regarding windmill technology, optics, and plastic materials science.

Both Mr Bender and Mr Kitchen were among the initiators of Chas. Hude's trainee programme that educates future patent agents. Both consultants are teachers and part of the supervisor team for Chas. Hude's patent trainees.

"It is highly motivating to work at a firm where you can drive the development of the firm and have an influence on your working day," says Mr Kitchen who is also the employee representative in Chas. Hude's board of directors .
