111 years

There is something special about dates. In particular the more spectacular ones. Today 5 January 2007 Chas. Hude turns 111 years. Not until 2118 on our 222-year birthday, we will experience a corresponding series of three identical numbers in our birthday.

I am proud of working in a company with such deep roots. It is a sign of strength and durability, which distinguishes itself by quality in our performance and a demand for our expertise, says managing director Tommy Lindved.

According to the traditional practice, the birthday will be celebrated with a reception for the employees.

A prominent founder

Chas. Hude was founded by Charles Christian von der Hude in 1896. Today Chas. Hude is one of the leading Danish IPR consultancy firms.

Charles – always named Chas. – was a prominent figure in his time. He had a dynamic and extrovert personality and both professionally and privately he displayed great commitment and energy in everything with which he occupied himself.

Chas. took part in the initiative of the foundation of the Association of Danish Patent Agents, which was established in 1901.

He fascination for motor cycles led to the foundation of a Danish Brigade of Motor Cycles (Motorordonnanskorpset) on the basis of motor cycle club Ellehamklubben, which he established five years earlier with the famous inventor J.C. Ellehammer as the legendary central figure. The Danish Brigade of Motor Cycles achieved semi-military status and Chas. Hude himself was the commanding officer of the brigade for a number of years.

Chas. Hude was active in his company for more than 50 years and ensured that the company moved with the times.
